All the time? Some times? Most of the time? I like art that challenges. I also like a lovely scene that makes me relax and wish I were there. But I suppose I’m thinking only of visual art. Other art forms, such as writing, have greater depth if they make you think. Still, there must be beauty. aesthetics + provocative = Great Art?
I liked her quote because I think it addresses both realities. The main idea being, if whatever it is is ONLY confirming what we already think, it’s not art. It may be something valuable, but it’s probably not really worthy of being called art. Things to think about!
